    2010 Women and Human Rights Vol. 3 contains a report "Looking into Teenager Prostitution" as a special feature, in order to come up with measures to tackle teenager prostitution by reflecting this issues in depth. In the section, “Peer Counselors and where they are now”, the journal looks into how the survivors of commercial sexual exploitation have developed their carriers as counselors and what contributions they have made. Besides, it includes a review of books related sexual violence, interviews with a president of Children of the Night, one of the most active youth prostitution victim support centers in the U.S. and a president of Stop Demand Foundation, a major organization fighting against prostitution in New Zealand. Lastly, it introduces a various kinds of works that approach women"s human rights in different angles.

  • 2010 Stop Teenager Prostitution: Survey on Teenager 2010 Stop Teenager Prostitution: Survey on Teenager"s Sexual Practice (Research Report)

    Amid increasing entering of teenagers into prostitution through the internet, this survey was conducted to find out how much sexual contents on the Internet have affected teenager"s sexual practice and understanding on the sex. In doing so, we attempt to use its outcomes as a source that could gear national policies regarding youth prostitution in a right direction. The survey is composed of 1) Teenager"s access to sexual materials via the Internet, 2) Sexual practice, understanding of sex, and involvement of prostitution of teenager who are often exposed to sexual materials online, 3) Impact of online sexual contents to teenager"s sexual practice and their entering to prostitution. In addition, it suggested policy recommendations for better policy establishment.

    This is a DVD that contains six videos selected from "2010 Stop! Prostitution Video Contest", which was organized by Women"s Human Rights Commission of Korea. The publication of the selection was designed to spread anti-prostitution movements and increase public awareness on the necessity of preventive actions against prostitution. "Stop! Prostitution Video Contest" is an annual event that provides opportunities for ordinary people to participate in an anti-prostitution campaign by making video contents themselves. The selected works have been distributed through local tours or regular anti-prostitution education programs, which is expected to facilitate easy access. Six works of this selection, whose production was financed from the beginning after screening proposals that applicants had submitted, show different colors in terms of approaches, formations, and topics while, at the same time, they are stressing the importance of stopping commercial sexual exploitation of women. <span style="color: black; font-family: 굴림; font-size:

    For comprehensive, multiple evaluations on the rehabilitation program for women in red-light district, this report conducts a wide-range data analysis including comparison among individual sites where the programs were started and how much influence they have made into local community and residents nearby. Besides, it also discuss which factors have made an impact on the fate of the rehabilitation programs based on materials coming from the programs that had been carried out from 2004 to 2008. In the end, it adds a number of policy recommendations on the basis of what it found out through the investigation.

The magazine presents a Swedish model as an efficient policy to punish sex buyers while protecting the rights of women.

    2009 Women and Human Rights Vol. 2 reports a debate and major issues surrounding "John School, "a diversion programs targeting the buyers of prostitution" and attempts to find out a possible solution through the analysis of similar cases in other countries and expert meetings. Besides, questioning underestimation on the potentiality of an outreach service as a useful tool for anti-prostitution campaign, the journal spotlighted its value in-depth. It includes the strategies for a further development in the outreach services, its possibility as a useful mechanism that can be coordinated with peer counseling programs, as well as case studies delivering the experiences of individual facilities.

    This is a report that reviews the outcomes of survivor"s carrier development programs and employment support programs, which have been carried out together with Ministry of Gender Equality & Family. It was analyzed on the basis of answers from survivors who had participated in the programs in regard to how much they had adjusted themselves to a society and what kinds of process they had gone through, as well as data and other standards that came out while the programs were being conducted. The object of this report was to provide information that enables survivor to find proper job places with a long-term perspective.

This book will be a milestone to raise awareness that prostitution is very current issue that is occurring in our neighborhood and it is our shared responsibility to end prostitution.

    The assessment scale is a need and rights based diagnosis tool designed to redefine the meaning of independence of formerly prostituted women and measure the results of independence support activities. It is different from the existing one-size-fits-all evaluation model. The new scale can be used in all types of support agencies (counseling centers, independence support centers, communal workshops, group homes, etc) and in all stages of support activities (from intake to termination).

    The four <Women and Human Rights> webzines issued by the Center for Womens Human Rights in 2008 were reconstructed and published into a book. This book includes discussions on comprehensive relaying and execution of the protection and punishment parts of the Anti-prostitution Act, talks with anti-prostitution activists, and written interviews with overseas experts.

    Research was conducted with an aim to review the operational status of the services for prostituted women and identify the ways to create a more efficient support system that would enable us to more effectively respond to the changing needs of the victims of prostitution. Based on the discussions with anti-prostitution organizations and a survey, it suggests an open partnership between related agencies in order to provide comprehensive support catered to the needs of each community. A detailed model has yet to be developed.

    This book was distributed at an expert meeting held in celebration of the 4th anniversary of the enactment of the anti-prostitution law. Local and overseas experts came together to analyze the impact of governments prostitution policies on womens human rights and gender equality and highlight the implications of South Koreas anti-prostitution act, which attempts to endorse both prevention of prostitution and protection of the victims of prostitution.

It includes explanations about prostitution market operating mechanism, the role of demand in sexual trafficking and prostitution, factors that make it possible to sell or buy human beings like products, such as sex buyers, social culture, and other elements that stimulate man to buy sex. Besides, it introduces cases that are reported by victim support centers, in order to provide a clear idea of what is really going on in reality.
