2017 Annual Report
The Womens Human Rights Institute of Korea (WHRIK) published the 2017 Annual Report to provide an overview of the anti-prostitution and anti-sex trafficking activities in South Korea. This 2017 Annual Report covered WHRIKs year-round projects as well as the major issues and changes in laws and regulations on prostitution prevention and victim support. We hope this Annual Report will be used as a platform to share our experiences and strengthen a partnership with anti-prostitution/sex trafficking organizations in the world for combating prostitution and sex trafficking.

Winning Entries of 2010 STOP! Prostitution Pre-production Support Project
This English-language DVD includes six films that were selected as winning entries in the 2010 Anti-prostitution Film Contest. The DVD is distributed free of charge to overseas anti-prostitution/sex trafficking organizations, foreign embassies, local autonomous bodies, and foreign schools in South Korea with an aim to foster international solidarity regarding the prevention of sex trafficking and to help promote South Korea"s anti-prostitution activities.

2011 Report on the Activities of the WHRCK Central Support Center for the Prevention of Sexual Trafficking
This report features evaluations of the 2011 accomplishments of the WHRCK Central Support Center for the Prevention of Sexual Trafficking. The center conducts activities related to prevention of prostitution and effective coordination of service delivery systems for prostituted victims. The center has been engaged in a number of activities offering support to victims of prostitution and expanding public awareness of anti-prostitution policies while striving to sensitively respond to the changing topologies of the prostitution industry, including the deteriorating situation of adolescent prostitution. Major activities in 2011 include an anti-prostitution film festival, research on support measures for adult and adolescent prostituted victims, development of anti-prostitution outreach educational programs, support for independence of former prostitutes, cultivation and retraining of anti-prostitution counselors, and strengthening of networking among anti-prostitution organizations.

This is a collection of presentation papers submitted for the policy conference “Measures to Strengthen Legal Protection of Victims of Prostitution” held on September 26, 2012 in commemoration of the 8th Anniversary of the Anti-prostitution Act. The presentation papers include The Victimization of Prostituted Women (Ko Myeong-jin, Director of Dasi Hamkke Center); Prostituted Women and Social Inequality (Jeong Jae-won, Researcher at Seoul National University Asia Center); Overseas Trends in Prostitution Policies (Jeong Mi-rye, Policy Team at the National Solidarity for the Eradication of Prostitution); and Accomplishments of Prostitution Policies and Future Directions (Won Min-gyeong, Lawyer, One Law Firm).

2012 Report on the Activities of the WHRCK Central Support Center for the Prevention of Sexual Trafficking
This volume is a report on the programs implemented in 2012 by the WHRCK Central Support Center for the Prevention of Sexual Trafficking and evaluations of these programs. The center carried out a number of efforts designed to address current issues ranging from the globalization of sex trafficking to adolescent prostitution, in an effort to assist victim support and prevention activities and create public consensus on anti-prostitution policies. The major activities for this period are related to the following areas: the expansion and promotion of anti-prostitution education; support for programs to assist rehabilitation and independence of former prostitutes; strengthening of local and international anti-prostitution networks; research on measures to prevent prostitution; cultivation and retraining of anti-prostitution counselors; and development of video materials for anti-prostitution education in school environments.

2013 Report on Talent-sharing Support Programs for Enhancing the Rehabilitation of Victims of Prostitution
This report was designed to introduce the programs implemented in 2013 as part of the WHRCK"s Talent-sharing Support Programs for Enhancing the Rehabilitation of Victims of Prostitution and to provide information on the talent-sharing programs implemented by other five organizations. Its contents include program overviews, program implementation, details and outcomes of programs of each organization, and the survey questionnaires and activity logs used in the programs. A total of five organizations implemented talent-sharing programs in 2013: Shimjari for Girls, Hearim (affiliated with Nanurihoe), Himangter (affiliated with Gyeongwon Social Welfare Community), Gyeongnam Human Rights Support Center for Women, and Neulpureun Independence Center.

Designed to serve as a basic resource for anti-prostitution policies, these materials provide information on the current status, policies, and victim protection/support systems regarding prostitution and sex trafficking in Europe. It introduces legislation and policies on prostitution and sex trafficking, the status of local sex industries, and protection and support systems for trafficking victims currently in place in the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, the UK, and France.

It contains a number of changes since the passage of the act, including increased public awareness of illegality of prostitution, introduction of the concept of prostituted victims, introduction of systems to protect and support prostituted victims, provision of public services for prostituted victims, and implementation of stronger punishments for sex buyers and brokers.
